Here’s what nobody talks about.
Leadership doesn’t just ask for your time and your talent.
It asks for your voice. Your instincts. Your reactions. Your needs.
And if you want to advance — really advance — you learn fast that certain parts of you are not welcome.
So you adapt. You intellectualize. You perform competence so fluently it becomes your whole identity. You become the one who handles it — reliably, brilliantly, without complaint.
And it works. Until it doesn’t.
Until you’re lying awake, wondering why the promotion keeps going to someone else. Until you notice you’ve stopped wanting things — really wanting them — because wanting felt too dangerous after the third time you were passed over, talked over, or told to stay in your lane.
Until you realize you haven’t felt like yourself in years.
It’s not burnout. It’s not imposter syndrome. It’s what happens when a brilliant woman has been required to abandon herself in order to succeed.
You don’t need to be fixed. You need to be retrieved.
You’ve stopped wanting things because you turned that desire down so many times to stay safe that you can’t find the dial anymore.
Most leadership development teaches you how to look the part of a leader
through courses, communication strategies, and executive presence tips.
The reason you aren’t where you want to be isn’t a skills gap; it’s that you stopped allowing yourself to trust what you knew.
Sunday nights have a particular feeling now.
Not dread exactly.
Just that pit in the bottom of your stomach.
My work starts where most coaching stops.
We go beneath the thinking to bring your feelings, desires, and instincts back into the conversation so your head and heart work together.
I call it leading from the inside out.
If any of that sounds like. you — you’re in the right place.
This is for the woman who is functioning at a high level and knows, in her gut, that she was built for more than this.
THE ENOUGH METHOD
You were always enough. Something taught you to doubt it, and you built a life around proving otherwise.
This is the work of stopping. Three stages, moving from bracing and self-override toward a way of leading and living that actually feels like yours.
01 · Regulate — Awareness. What happens in your body, your voice, and your thinking in the moment it happens. And underneath it, what you actually value, what you actually think, and what you already know about the room — the part that has been getting overridden the whole time. Then the pause you never used to have. Then the choice: what you want, how you want to do it, and who you want to be right there.
02 · Anchor — Tools. Awareness on its own leaves you knowing exactly what’s happening and having nothing to do about it. Anchor is what you do with the pause. Somatic practices you run on yourself, taught as a range instead of a prescription, so you keep the two or three that are actually yours. They go with you into the meeting, into the kitchen, and into 9 pm on a Tuesday when there’s nobody to call.
03 · Embody — Becoming her. The repetitions happen in the first two stages. This is what’s on the other side of them: you stop deciding to pause, your body reaches for the tool before your thinking catches up, and one day you handle something hard and only realize afterward that you never braced for it.
What is trauma-informed coaching?
Trauma-informed coaching recognizes that patterns like overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, bracing, and difficulty holding boundaries are often protective responses. They were useful once. They aren’t evidence of a capability problem.
Coaching isn’t psychotherapy. This work is forward-focused: your voice, your decisions, your relationships, your leadership, and the life you actually want to be living. When deeper therapeutic support belongs alongside it, I’ll tell you.
“I paced around the parking lot of my office because it was too small inside for privacy. ‘What is it you want?’ Denise kept asking me.
I finally leaned into the confidence she was giving me and said, ‘I want to be known in my industry. I think people should know who I am.’
Today, the incoming President of the National Association personally invited me to a private event to celebrate women in the industry.
I have Denise to thank for it.”
Brenda Ward, VP
“Denise helped me navigate complex company politics with newfound clarity.
Through her guidance I’ve regained control over my emotions and actions, even in the face of adversity.
Perhaps the most profound lesson she imparted is the importance of recognizing the abundance of choices we have in our lives.
Her mentorship has been nothing short of life-changing”

Every woman starts somewhere different. What matters is that you start.
One Woman
The work of bringing your feelings, desires, and instincts back into the conversation.
Grounded — The Community
You know something needs to shift. You’re not quite ready for the deep dive — but you’re ready to begin. Grounded is a year-long community for women leaders who are taking the first intentional steps back to themselves. Low cost. High resonance. The place where the work quietly starts.
Private 1:1 — The Full Depth
You know you need the real thing. Six months, one-on-one, all of you on the table. This is the most direct path to the transformation you’ve been circling for years. We start with a conversation — because this work only happens when the fit is right.
I know this experience because I lived it.
I know what it costs to be the woman everyone relies on and nobody fully hears
I spent more than 20 years inside corporate organizations, leading teams, managing expectations, and carrying responsibility at every level. I know the pressure to perform. I know the cost of over-functioning. I know what it’s like to be the capable one and feel completely unseen while you do it.
I also know what it takes to come back from that, because I did it myself.
Today I bring that experience together with training in counseling, behavioral work, and trauma-informed practice, so the women I work with can stop abandoning themselves in real time.
